I believe in local control of schools. The federal government has no role in elementary or secondary education. I support the abolishment of the U.S. Federal Department of Education. Our energy crisis is also a national security crisis, in that we depend far too much on foreign sources of oil. We need to fully develop and explore all ofour domestic energyresources including coal, natural gas and nuclear energy. I also support drilling in ANWR, and believe we need to increase our oil refining capacity.

Yes, I have pledged that I will fully read and understand the legislation that I am asked to vote upon.
